Influence of thermal treatment conditions on recovery stress formation in an FeMnSi-SMA

In the current study, a broad experimental program was designed and conducted to investigate effect of aging conditions (i.e., temperature time) on thermomechanical properties (0.1% yield stress, pseudoelasticity, recovery stress) an FeMnSi-based shape memory alloy (FeMnSi-SMA) with chemical composition Fe–17Mn–5Si–10Cr–4Ni-1(V, C) (wt.%). addition, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) used study specimens' microstructures under several selected conditions. It found that significantly affected formation distribution precipitates stacking faults in aged specimens. At lower temperatures (e.g., 600 660 °C), numerous fine were randomly dispersed both austenite matrix on/near faults, resulting higher stress stress. elevated 774 majority formed leading Besides, as time increased, pseudoelasticity increased at all temperatures.
